Quran

The Holy Quran is the central religious text of Islam, believed by Muslims to be the literal word of God (Allah) as revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) over a period of approximately 23 years.

The Quran is composed of 114 chapters known as Surahs, which vary in length and are written entirely in Arabic. Each Surah is further divided into verses called Ayahs. The Quran serves as the ultimate source of guidance for Muslims in all aspects of life—spiritual, moral, legal, and social. Its recitation is a cornerstone of daily worship, and Muslims around the world memorize, study, and reflect upon its teachings as a means of drawing closer to Allah.

Supplications & Duas

Dua (supplication) is a profound form of worship in Islam—a direct, personal conversation with Allah. The following are some of the most cherished supplications recited regularly at Husaynia and in Shia communities worldwide.

Dua Kumayl

Dua Kumayl is a supplication taught by Imam Ali (AS) to his companion Kumayl ibn Ziyad. It is traditionally recited on Thursday nights and is one of the most beloved supplications in Shia Islam, expressing deep repentance and seeking God's mercy.

Allahumma inni as'aluka bi-rahmatika al-lati wasi'at kulla shay'in, wa bi-quwwatika al-lati qaharta biha kulla shay'in, wa khada'a laha kullu shay'in, wa dhalla laha kullu shay'in

Dua Nudba

Dua Nudba (the Supplication of Lamentation) is recited on Fridays and on the days of Eid. It expresses longing for the awaited Imam al-Mahdi (AS) and reflects on the trials of the Prophet's family.

Dua Faraj

Dua Faraj (Prayer for Relief) is a brief but powerful supplication seeking divine relief and the hastening of the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (AS). It is one of the most frequently recited duas.

Allahumma kun li-waliyyikal-hujjati ibnil-Hasan, salawatuka 'alayhi wa 'ala aba'ihi, fi hadhihi-s-sa'ati wa fi kulli sa'atin, waliyyan wa hafizan wa qa'idan wa nasiran wa dalilan wa 'ayna, hatta tuskinahu ardaka taw'an wa tumatti'ahu fiha tawila

"O Allah, be for Your representative, the Proof, son of al-Hasan—Your blessings upon him and his forefathers—at this hour and every hour, a guardian, a protector, a leader, a helper, a guide, and a watcher, until You allow him to dwell on Your earth willingly and grant him its enjoyment for a long time."

Hadith Al Kisa

Hadith al-Kisa (The Narration of the Cloak) recounts an event where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gathered Imam Ali, Sayyida Fatima, Imam Hasan, and Imam Husayn (AS) under his cloak, and Allah declared them the purified Ahlul Bayt. It is frequently recited at Shia gatherings.

Rawat Fatimatu az-Zahra ('alayhas-salam), bintu Rasulillah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi), annaha qalat: dakhala 'alayya abi Rasulullahi fi ba'dil-ayyam
